" 2007 Essay Contest " |

(FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE) The Optimist Club of Downtown Detroit is proud to announce it held its 2007 Essay Contest. Thirteen schools were invited to participate. "I Want To Make A Difference Because …." Sixteen entries were received from thirteen schools. The First, Second and two Third Place students will receive medals and Savings Bonds. These are the winners.
The Downtown Detroit Optimist Club will hold an awards luncheon on May 2, 2007 for all winners of the Essay and Oratorical Contest. Medals and Savings Bonds will be handed out at this Recognition Celebration. The Essay winner, Carlee Andrea Floyd, will now compete in the Michigan District Essay Contest representing our Club. The Michigan District Winner will be chosen in late April and the winner will compete in the Nation Optimist Essay contest.
